Wedding in Bellagio
While I was reading my book on the beach in Bellagio, a message arrives from Michael asking for my availability to take pictures of their wedding for about an hour, in Bellagio, asking for only 20 photos printed in an album to keep as a souvenir.
The email also wrote about the disappointment they had with their marriage company (from England). They were already in Bellagio.
For the requested date I was available so after a first meeting in my Studio, in Salita Monastero 16 in Bellagio, we quickly agree on everything:
I would have made the prints because they wanted to go home with the album ready.
They wanted 20 photos printed to remember their day.
Request of 1 hour of photo shoot including the ceremony.
My hourly rate for weddings suited them and after agreeing on the price of the 20 prints, plus the album to buy, we say goodbye.
Anyone who knows my work knows that for 1 hour of work I also deliver 30 edited digital files, out of a selection sent of about 120-200 shots.
On the day of the wedding we were only the bride and groom, the witnesses (2 bellagini), the celebrant with the official translator and myself.
20 minutes of ceremony and then off to the alleys and climbs of Bellagio to take some souvenir shots.
In the end in their case I sent a selection of 345 shots from which they chose 30. Of these 20 were printed for the album.
One thing made me think:
How could it happen that two people who are about to get married do not find an agreement within days of their wedding with their wedding company on a photographer for their needs.
Having met the couple, I can say that they are exquisite and very polite people.
Where was the hitch? Did the photographer ask for too much? Has the company loaded too much on the photographer’s work? Or has the photographer given up for a more profitable service?
I don’t know and I don’t care. I only care that I have done my job as always with the utmost professionalism, 1 or 10 hours of marriage does not matter.
For me the important thing is that two people left Bellagio happy with my work and with an album handmade by me.
